the basic

He asked when I said I expect the husband to be the one who is responsible in providing for the household, what does it mean exactly.

My answer:

- A four bedrooms house at least, with big back yard and front yard

- A car for each of us

- Household expenses [maid included]

- A capability to maintain decent social life

- Money enough to travel

- If there are children, enough money to put those children through good schools until college

- A saving.

And so he nodded.

I never believe in beating around the bush and cry later.

within the brackets

I was asked what kind of a man I want to settle down with.

Before, I had difficulties to explain. Now, I told them, an older version of Rory Gilmore's boyfriend, Logan, from the Gilmore Girls series. Also taller.

Personality wise, he has the right mixture of Alpha, Omega, and a bit of married-guy.

That being said, since such a guy doesn't exist in real life, my offing man stage is still in effect.

[I do miss Omega so much].

not peaceful

I dislike the white house people so that when the news of one of them contract some illness I thought to myself, good! yes! they deserve it, the more serious the better.

Yes.  I wish them all to die a slow suffering death. a peaceful death is not for them. They deserve to be dying for months, years even.

For what they have done in iraq. for many of their decisions. for many of their actions. for the partial-birth abortion law.

Die slow. Die not peacefully. Die knowing what it means to suffer the way they have made others suffer.

This is my wish for all that holds power of decision in the white house for the last seven years.

They don't deserve peace. because they don't work for peace.

what Alec said or not said

First Britney Spears then Anna Nicole Smith and now, Alec Baldwin.

Get over it people. Many parents have said abominable words to their children. The rich and famous to the poor and infamous. It is not the first time.

No need to be concerned about it. Just don't do it to your own children.

too angry

I shall refrain myself to say anything right now about the new law upheld last week by the supreme court regarding the partial-birth abortion law except:

how dare they?

who do these men think they are? were they the ones who got pregnant? were they the ones whose womb, whose bodies carried babies they decided women should have? were they the ones who gave birth to these babies? were they the ones who then take cares of these babies?

how dare they? how dare these men to decide what women should or should not do!

what does it mean to be human?

When you watch something like "Planet Earth" series, you really get the feeling how awe-inspiring nature is and how perfect nature is in running eco-system, how perfect. How colourful and amazing its inhabitants.

All without men interruption.

In fact, when men enter the picture, more often than not, it creates in imbalance in the eco-system, a great imbalance is not unusual.

What does it say then about men?

About us?

Are we really only able to take everything away from life? from nature? is our inability in giving back sadly so little that we are destroying everything we touch?

If we can't contribute in the larger things of life, each of us that is, it is hardly a wonder that we are doing badly in our interraction with each other.

only in america

in the news: quoted by some men in the south:

"if everybody had a gun, virginia tech shooting would not happen."

oooooookaaaaaaay.

that got to be among the tops of the stupidest argument I have ever heard. I mean what the ?!%@?

If indeed everyone had a gun, virginia tech shooting would not be a bad bad tragedy! it'd just be a "tragedy", a casual tragedy.

And instead of having 32 victims, everyone would just shoot each other.

Man.

I really wonder where do they educated these people. and how on earth the united states got to be a leader.

thank goodness the south lost the war.  Praise the yankees.

Stupid is what stupid does.

It is no wonder Forrest Gump is depicted from the south. it fits right down the the last letter.

what we need

We need to grow people who grow up to be:

- Nelson Mandela

- Mother Teresa

- Aung San Suu Kyi

- Muhammad Yunus

- Dalai Lama

- Betty Williams

- the creators of "Planet Earth" series

- the doctors who work under "Doctors without Borders"

all those people who fight for their cause without violence, that their appearance alone can be calming in the face of fierce agression or even death.

We need to cultivate such people, strong people with heart as vast as the universe itself.

We need to fill the world once again with peace, with music that pierce your heart, with wonders of the world that can be achieved by men, to show what makes us men, not animals.

validation

Some New Yorkers who I have talked to are not too happy with how the media has been handling v. t. tech, a few of them even said the media treated it as if it were World Trade Center all over again and it was not.

Three thousands are not the same with thirty, they continued.

I disagreed with them. Not about the media, of course, I agreed with them or everyone else that the media has been pushing their borders for ages now, especially of late.

I said that grieving is grieving regardless the victims are more than three thousands or even only two or even one.

It is the same. the grief of each family who lost their family members are the same anywhere in every tragedy.  Each of them needs to be validated without comparison.

Each lost is a lost. Whether it is alone or by the dozens.
